Berry Interesting
Okay, so today is pretty slow at the gazette. I'm gonna throw it back to the end of senior year. We did this contest every year at Texas High called TOPS in Texas. Basically, you compete with all the other photo programs in Texas through ATPI. One of our themes was Thematic, which is where you can pick whatever theme you want but they just all have to match in a way. There has to be ten pictures with a photographer taking no more than two photos. We decided to do drink advertising. Last year was a rough year, so I kind of got into the contest late. I knew our drink portfolio wasn't strong enough so I came up with two photo ideas (this is one of them.)
I literally went into Walmart, tried to find a pretty drink and come up with something on the spot that I could do for the next day. I ended up finding a raspberry Monster Energy drink. (Which was ssoooooo good btw)
My idea was that I would have the drink surrounded/buried in raspberries. So, I brought all the things I needed the next day and I went to work.
The first step was filling the bucket thing I had with the raspberries.

This is literally what it looked like sitting on the ground. Not very exciting, I know. Then, another photographer was like, we need to spritz water on it and I was like, yeah that would look cool.
Before you ask, I'm not sure what was on the raspberries, either but it wasn't in the final shot. After editing (I use Lightroom) I became quite happy with the finished product. Something I've been doing lately is underexposing on purpose to guide me in the editing process.
ISO: 100
Aperture: 16
Shutter: 1/250
This is the finished result, and I was super happy with it. The water spritzing was just what the picture needed to give it the advertisement vibe that I was looking for. If I had to do it differently, I think I would move the raspberries to cover the silver part of the bottom of the can because it kind of bothers me, but in general this is one of my favorite pictures from my senior year, hence why I decided to write about it.
