A Little Push

Hey! So, I didn't write this yesterday but at the Texarkana Gazette we do this thing called, "Wild Art." It's this thing where if you're a photographer then you go out into the community and take pictures of people doing whatever they do. Well, yesterday as I was driving I found these guys taking weeds out of the flower bed of a building right next to ours. So, I get out of my car and walk over to them take their picture, get their names and then I walk back to my building.

So, at this point I've been editing the pictures for about 10 minutes, right? And all of the sudden I realize: I don't even know why they're picking weeds out of this flower bed. So I tell my boss and he's like "Well, you should probably go out there and ask them before it's too late, huh" So, I'm like crap. I walk back out there and I ask them why etc and then I leave again. Well, when I get back my boss is like "okay, well where are they from?" And I'm like ohhhhhh goodness. I didn't even ask them. So, I take up as much time as I can until he forgets that I didn't get that info but it didn't work. Eventually he told me to go back a THIRD time. At this point, I was a little embarrassed because I was bugging these guys so much but getting the extra information was definitely worth it. I just needed a little push to go back out there and get all the information I really needed to make a good caption.

Rash, who is from Utah, and Hardman, who is from Idaho, are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and are doing community service as apart of their mission in southern regions of the United States. Rash has been in Texarkana for two days, while Hardman has been in Texarkana for about three months.

Rash has only been in Texarkana for two days and won't leave for about three to six months.

So, basically what I learned is that I need to be cautious to get more information than I actually need so I don't have to embarrass myself by bothering people three times in a row because I didn't do my job right the first time. :))))))))))
