New Lens Rental

I rented a 35mm 1.4 over Thanksgiving break and I wanted to get some use out of it so I took random pictures at my friends house in Tennessee. This is a picture of some flowers she received at her school singing concert and then one of her dogs, Charlie.

I wanted to keep the aperture open at 1.4 because I've never shot with something that wide before. Then, I was inside so my ISO was 800. 

I've come to realize that shooting things with the aperture opened that wide can make it hard to focus on certain stuff because of how shallow the depth of field is. I will have to get used to it though, because I really like the look that it gives.
