Creeper Project

I finally got my creeper project finished. The first try that we got together, I didn't know about max sync speed so there was a big black line in the bottom half of the picture. Max sync speed is about 1/200 or 1/250. If it's any faster, the little curtain and mirror flap open and closed too fast, and then the flashes don't have enough time to expose everything. The opening will get smaller therefore the faster the shutter speed the smaller the amount of light that is shown in the image. So, the very first time all the photographers got together, we didn't get an image that worked.

When I took the picture for real again, it happened to do the same thing.

The second time I tried the project, I was with Mary. I had invited her to my house so we could finally get it done, since I usually procrastinate a ton. In my dining room, we had some blank space on the wall but I moved everything to one side of the room so that we had enough room for our project. It's still disorganized and messed up, too. I even took a picture off of the wall to allow us to do this. While I was waiting on Mary, I created a fake couch out of three chairs, two pillows from my couch, and a piano bench. It actually looked like a real couch in my opinion. Also, it is to be noted that my 4 year old niece was bugging me throughout this whole process because I told her that I wanted her to be in my picture.
When Mary got there, we finally set up our gear and started messing with the settings. First of all, we started with the background and the shadows. My first idea of the shadow was going to be a big hand in the background looking like it was about to grab the girls head, however, the skeleton hand that I bought turned out to be too small and the shadow wouldn't work with it. This was my first picture idea.

It turned out to look something like this. The shadow turned out to be too soft in the background, but when we moved the light farther away it made a more crisp shadow. I'm happy with how my picture turned out. Although the settings and lights were hard to do, it was also pretty hard making my 4 year old niece cooperate with me.
