Photography Boot Camp
Okay, so far these are my favorite images from this year's boot camp. Most of them are from the YERD cupcake war.
I like this picture. I was actually trying to get it to where Hannah was in focus spraying the silly string, but it turned out where Leighton was in focus with the string. I especially like the fact that Leighton is making that funny face.
I like this picture because it shows a specific reaction to being hit by cupcakes. Plus the blurry background is nice.
I like this picture a lot because you can see the cupcake that was thrown in the air with the icing and stuff around it. However, I wish that I would've gotten the picture quicker so that the cupcake wasn't so high up in the air.
I also like this picture because the picture is focused on the two hands that are attacking eachother.
This is kind of a boring picture but I thought it was funny that the water balloon had a whole in it so it was squirting everywhere.
These two water pictures are interesting. I can't tell if I hate them or if I like them. I like how in the top picture that some of the water is in focus, but I wish more of it was. In the bottom picture I wish that the water was more prominent. I should've tried to get more pictures of the water splashes.
I also like this picture because of her face. She kept trying to get icing and stuff off of it and then her friends would keep putting it back on. I'm glad I was able to get this.
I like this picture also. I wish that the water was a little more in focus or something but at least she is. I think she was busting a water balloon on herself so she could wash all the junk off of her.
This was a picture that I took during the scavenger hunt. When I took this, I was actually trying to get my aquatic life picture but I saw this dragonfly instead. I actually hate dragonflies. Anyways, I should've cropped this more because there is a TONNNNNNNNNNNNN of empty space which really takes away from what I wanted the focus to be on.
At boot camp this week, I did learn new things but I was mostly just reminded of all the things I forgot about when I was in photojournalism. I forgot about using at least 800 ISO inside. Most of the time I usually just did whatever to expose it right. I also learned more about the histogram. We learned about the histogram in photo-j but I never got it down pat. This week has helped me understand that more, but it is still a little fuzzy.
I wish to improve on my flash skills because right now I actually have none. I do not know how to use a flash at all. I'm nervous about learning how to as well because it sounds a little difficult. I'm sure there are other things I need to improve on but I'm blank.
